چکیده
Abstract Objectives Pemphigus, a group of autoimmune bullous diseases, can be fatal, resulting from overwhelming opportunistic infection lesions secondary to cutaneous bacterial infections. This study aimed look into the profile pemphigus patients as timely identification and appropriate treatment play major role in reducing mortality. Materials Methods Pus samples/swabs received with over 2-year period July 2018 June 2020 were subjected standard microbiological culture techniques susceptibility testing. The frequency isolation different pathogens toward various antimicrobial agents interpreted analyzed per Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute's guidelines. Results Samples 315 during comprising 203 (64.4%) males 112 (35.5%) females. Of 211 samples which culture-positive, total 245 isolates obtained, 158 Gram-positive cocci 87 Gram-negative bacilli. Staphylococcus aureus (138, 56.3%) was most common isolate followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa (41, 16.7%) Escherichia coli (16, 6.5%). Methicillin resistance observed 24.6% carbapenem 9.5 14.6% Conclusions Study findings emphasize need for continuous monitoring choice therapy.
